PCA Initiative

The Plant Cell Atlas (PCA) will be a community resource that comprehensively describes the state of various plant cell types and integrates high-resolution location information of nucleic acids, proteins, and metabolites within plant cells.

Our published perspective, "Towards Building a Plant Cell Atlas", provides a vision for the PCA Initiative. We also held a Kick-off Workshop last year to discuss how to best build this community resource.

Our call for papers for a Plant Cell Atlas Focus Issue is open! Deadline to submit an article is May 1, 2021. Selected papers will appear in Plant Physiology in December 2021.

This initiative is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (Grant # 1916797), Carnegie Institution for Science's President Fund, and BASF.
PCA celebrates historical Black plant scientists.

STANFORD LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
“The Plant Cell Atlas operates predominantly out of the Carnegie Institution for Science's Plant Biology Department located at Stanford University. Stanford sits on the ancestral land of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. This land was and continues to be of great importance to the Ohlone people. Consistent with our values of community and inclusion, we have a responsibility to acknowledge, honor, and make visible the University’s relationship to Native peoples.”
